Through life’s difficult circumstances I have discovered my true gifts. It is my mission to share these insights with others and offer guidance to a path of resiliency and peace.
Three significant life challenges have provided the opportunities for me to stretch, rise up, and reach new levels on my personal growth journey.
As a parent I was confronted with the reality of parenting and supporting an amazing child as he learned to regulate his body, navigate daily tasks, and overcome challenges. It required me to seek out of the box solutions to parenting while facing medical care decisions, determining a proper school environment, and seeking creative solutions to meet my child's needs. The dedication to my family led to isolation from friends and called into question my capacity to give him what he needed. I forged a path and found the inner strength to support all of my children, each of them with unique needs and beautiful gifts.
My beautiful mother was a young 59 when she was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease. The impact was life changing on our entire family. Throughout her disease process, there were stages of anger, fear, and extreme sadness. In the darkest moments, the perspective to learn how to LIVE IN THE MOMENT was a bright light.
As a busy professional and mom, I had never slowed down enough to be fully present, and the perspective to appreciate the small moments was a cherished gift of my mother’s illness that enhanced my life in so many ways. This experience has fueled my passion for teaching others the importance of mindfulness and how to begin a daily meditation practice.
The third significant challenge that I have faced was the end of my 21 year marriage. This was a period of time during which I felt deep depression and utter despair. Upon reflection came the realization of the power of love and compassion to carry me through – even if for only one minute at a time. Connections with others became a lifeline. The comfort that the simple gestures of a genuine smile, a text, or a card offered was immeasurable. In the dark, quiet hours of sleepless nights, and as I walked through airports, feeling completely untethered to the earth, I began to hear my inner guidance, my intuition. This connection with myself helped me to discover my passion and purpose, to rediscover me...and to find love again.
